Life is a Miracle

In the midst of all the testimonies we receive from the mission field, one in particular stood out to me this past month.  We had a Global Infusion team ministering to a small, remote, and impoverished village in Northern Guatemala.  They facilitated a daily kids outreach, provided iron-fortified rice and other food to the villagers, put on a medical clinic, and held an outdoor evangelistic service that brought the whole village together.

During the medical clinic, where over 100 families were seen and treated, one young pregnant lady went into labor.  The medical staff our team had with them thought about sending the mother in one of the teams’ vehicles to the nearest hospital— but that journey would take hours.  Fortunately, our contacts had arranged for midwives to be present.  They are trained in helping with births occurring in villages (no formal medical facilities).  They quickly brought the mother to a small hut, and as delivery started, they noticed the baby was being born with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck.

We are happy to report that the midwife safely delivered the baby and he is alive and healthy.  It is amazing to me, that in all of our intense work around the world to reach the unreached, minister in closed countries, feed the hungry, and strive to help thousands of people, God used one of our teams to help bring a life into this world.

Life is a miracle.  Jesus told us that He came to bring us life.  On the surface, it would seem tragic for this baby to be born in such a poor village, but Psalms 10:17 says, “Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless.  Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them.”  With the help of our teams, and the growing team of indigenous Guatemalans working together, we are literally seeing this village transformed.  When we bring Jesus, we bring life, because He is life.

Continue to pray for and support Global Infusion as we have more than a dozen mission trips coming up in the next few months.  We will be going into all the world bringing life to the broken, hurting and unreached through Jesus Christ.

Conflict vs. Comfort

A Global Infusion team to the Middle East has just returned and it was a powerful trip.  The team was able to live and work among the Bedouins (unreached people) in the Sahara Desert.  We also ministered to Sudanese refugees, widows, and new believers.  We had the opportunity to teach, preach, and evangelize via live-streaming into several closed countries including Syria, Turkey, Libya, and Sudan.  Ministry in a country that is over 90% Muslim looks quite different than what you would expect.  In fact, living as a Christian in a Middle Eastern country is quite shocking to those of us who live in the West.  Their lives are truly not their own.  Once they convert or become a Christian, life at every level becomes increasingly more difficult.  Family and friends reject you.  Work is harder to find.  And the persecution is just beginning.

(Middle) East vs. West

Majed El Shafie, a muslim from Egypt that converted to Christ says “Our world is divided into two zones. A conflict zone and a comfort zone. The more that you are a Christian in the conflict zone, the more that you are under heat, you are facing the front line, you are facing persecution, you are united. The more you are in the comfort zone, that’s United States, Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and so on and so forth, they are selfish, un-united, divided, lazy. [They] don’t want to hear about the message of persecution. They prefer the message of prosperity and healing and salvation than the message of persecution. They don’t want to touch it. They are scared to read it. They are scared to hear about it. So they don’t know [about persecution]. They are ignorant. Not all of them, but a lot of them.”

Jesus says in John 14:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”  Most of us will never face the kind of persecution that Majed refers to, so we must pray.  Pray that the Holy Spirit guides us with precision.  How to pray.  When to go.  And what can we do to win this world for Jesus. 

The Time is Now

The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 6:2, “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”  There is no time to waste.  Our world is blinded by the works and devices of the enemy, and they are lost without a Savior.  In verse 13, Paul goes on to write, “you are restricted by your own affections.”  People without Christ are restricted.  They are tied down by a false religion telling them to work their way out of their misery, sickness and poverty.  If you have never set foot in a country dominated by a false religion, you have not witnessed how strong the dark power of the enemy truly is over people.  Many of these people have not heard the Gospel.  Others have been told that Christianity is a lie.  They have not been exposed to true believers that love them as Christ loves them, and they are losing time.

Imagine living in a country that has had mosques since 640 A.D.  For centuries, you have been told that Jesus is not the Way, follow Mohammed instead.  This month, Global Infusion is sending a team to this Middle Eastern country to be Jesus to those who are lost without Him.  The time to reach them is now.

It’s easy to ignore problems that don’t affect us directly.  My prayer is that God will always touch my heart with the things that he has called me to do something about.  If you are reading these words, it is no accident that you know me, Global Infusion, or someone associated with our ministry.  You can be a part of reaching our world for Jesus Christ by going with us on an Infusion Adventure mission trip.  You can support our outreaches, like our current trip to the Middle East.  You can pray diligently for our teams—that they will be effective, and the vision of our contacts will flourish.  We have no time to waste, because people are dying every day without having an opportunity to know our Savior—and Global Infusion exists to change that.  globalinfusion.org

Season of Harvest

After 10 years of existence, Global Infusion is starting to see more and more returns on our investments of teams, prayer, humanitarian aid, stationing our interns around the world, and so much more.  God has been good, and I believe this is still only the beginning.

In 2013, we sent out 22 mission teams all over the world.  We saw many salvations, our teams discipled and trained new believers, and indigenous Pastors, we fed hundreds of people, we went into unreached villages with the Gospel, even to the ends of the earth, including our team to Nepal that trekked 80 miles to and from Mount Everest to reach unreached people in the Himalayan mountains!

EGYPT.  The Land of Pharaohs.

To begin 2014, our first Global Infusion mission team will be traveling to the Middle East, and working in the country of Egypt.  95% of Egypt’s 80 million people profess to be Muslim.  Pray for our team as we go in to a very non-Christian nation to proclaim the love of God and the Good News of Jesus Christ.

There are many things in this world that we as Christians need to be praying for.  I humbly ask that you remember Global Infusion and all of our ministry in regular prayer throughout 2014.  Our teams and interns that are sent around the world are often faced with great challenges, but we are seeing God’s miraculous power, grace and strength overcome the attack of the enemy every time.  However, I believe God has called us to more, beginning this year.

In John 4:35, Jesus says, “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!”  The time to harvest lost souls is now.  We have a plan, ordained by God, to reach them.  We need you.  Come with us.  Support us.  Pray for us.  It is all for Him, and His Kingdom.

Season of Giving

For the countries and cultures that celebrate Christmas, in one way or another, it is known as a season of giving.  One verse that is used frequently during this time of year is Acts 20:35, “it is more blessed to give, than to receive.”  However, did you know that this verse was spoken by the Apostle Paul (quoting Jesus) near the end of his third missionary journey?  Paul was certainly not making reference to Christmas, but he was speaking to the elders of the church in Ephesus and explaining that as believers we are to “support the weak” (v. 35) as he was doing on his mission trip.

Everywhere Global Infusion teams go, we proclaim the Gospel to the lost and unreached, disciple the believer, and minister to the poor.  We give away food, Bibles, medicine, clothing, shoes, toys, and so much more.  A few weeks ago, our Global Infusion mission team to India left our contact with the only camera GI owns—which we use regularly to document our work and film videos for updates.  This camera has gone to a district leader in India that will use it to document the work he and all of his Pastors throughout the region are doing—which is vitally important for their ministry’s strategic planning efforts.

While this may seem insignificant in the natural, it is a seed for another ministry—people we have partnered with for life that are doing everything they can to reach the unreached at any cost.  This is only a small example of what GI teams do on a regular basis.  You can help us do more and reach more people with your support.  Please consider supporting Global Infusion as we venture out into the world, as the Apostle Paul did.  We will continue to preach, and continue to give.  As Christians, our entire lives should be a season of giving, because He gave so much for us

INFUSION ADVENTURES: INDIA

Our November team to India has returned and we thank God for the many great testimonies from their trip.  The team held two multi-day conferences for over 100 village Pastors in two different regions of India, including the state of Orissa, which is one of the most highly anti-Christian and persecuted areas in the entire country.  The team also evangelized and held open-air services in three very remote villages that are dominated by Hinduism.  Watch the video update.

INFUSION ADVENTURES: THAILAND

Our November team to Thailand has also returned from the mission field.  This team ministered on the streets of Bangkok in some of the most intense areas of the city.  They reached out to trafficked women, prostitutes (male and female), children on the street, club owners and workers, and many others.  They also traveled to remote Thai villages to preach the Gospel, train leaders, and encourage the believers.

Thank you to all of our supporters who prayed and gave toward these trips.  We believe that many souls will now enter the Kingdom as they turn from the extreme darkness of the enemy.  Thailand and India are plagued by Hinduism and Buddhism—the enemy has blinded millions of people, but Global Infusion teams regularly infiltrate that darkness and bring the light and love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We already have more than 15 teams scheduled for 2014.  Please consider partnering with us as we bring the Good News to the world.
